The main developpment team at work relies on the Postgresql quality as an robust OpenSource DBMS, the adventure started since two years, when we've got rid of Informix and the 4GL IDE, so searching for solution we've found alternatives : Linux as Server, Postgresql as Backend DBMS, VB was choosen for he's quality of super fast easy, no cost features, and so begun the CPF history shared between the penguins and the Mama M$.

During all the last two years, Postgresql have show stability, performance and easy deployment even, we were growing with it's developpment progession, every version takes us far away and so we were growing on it's steps stimulated with the passion everyday to discover new emotions. We have abused of it's generousity : we are using all possiblie feature, Full text search, Replication, Interbal Procedural langaues (we use SQL, PLPGSQL, PLPERLU), ... and every time we've encountred some problems, it was the fiesta of how to fix it, as fast as you can't imagine, resolving tricks with Pgsql is so funny, so easy and so educatfull. We are romaing arouns a big elephant that prmise too much and asks for nothing else a smiling thanks.

While VB6 wasn't too funny, some bugs have made the prject a hell attraction, but we were always able to take off the land and fly high, it's support for bidi, is excellent, he's bytecode is so fresh, we don't blame nothing and even if property model is so present we were using opensource components (Activex).

Finally, the whole project based of the twisted model got success, I'll be a liar if I prented that it's hits the sky, but compared to other "porfessionnnal" tunisian software we are really prounf to be 'in !
