Tunisia : One Arab nation where democracy works well
Jan 31st

Martin Sieff -a chief political correspondent for United Press International and a veteran journalist in covering the Middle East- has been tolfing a really nice impression about tunisia in The Washington Times Published January 23, 2005 titled :”One Arab nation where democracy works well” and as far from grace, this raticle reflects well the state of Tunisia in the americain folder, classified as democratic country should be the best reward we shall get proud of, his statement as told “ Tunisia is the invisible nation of the Arab world in American eyes, and there is a very good reason why this is so: It confounds so many people’s hostile stereotypes of the Arab world“ is so clearly well argumented.
The opinion of the man -about tunisian model- is is fine as an exception of the arab world, and his inventory of the tunisian sucess stories “a vibrant success story profiting from the rise of a stable and prosperous Europe on the other side of the Mediterranean lake it shares” show a clear blue sky upon a nation of 3000 years old.
The author has been asking if the Tunisian model should be followed by others countries, wich developpment process if foggy The question was not whether other countries had to go through a Tunisian-style process, but whether there was really any other way to do it. The indisputable fact is that, wherever development has taken place in the modern age, it has adopted certain quantities of the Tunisian way, and wherever it is seriously contemplated, it will have to consider the Tunisian lessons : no need to argue, Martin Sieff is pleased with our Tunisia and thought honestly that’s not a fact of lucky days, as it is for its proud youngs arms.
Even if the article wasn’t a real a complete deep view in the Tunisia success story, the fact that Martin Sieff has underlined the most importants lines of a well designed work book have enlighted the americain reader with facts that should be let unknown.

My “hello” Experience
Jan 26th
Few months ago, I’ve heard about a new software that prentends beeing some kind of P2P for photos, and as my photo obsession is limitless (after I’ve adopted Picasa), I’ve tried to take a deeper look, afater installing Hello, I’ve been blazed by the fact that It doesn’t simply work behind firewall ! Yes the official FAQ says it with no details ! and it won’t work, and even I’ve got an open connection in a freind’s coumputer, the experience was missed because of time.
Till last week when the build 651 comes with the final remedy: firewall and proxies are cool and Hello worked !
1. Let’s organise my photos to be able share easily : they are already well managed with Picasa, ah I’ve already installed version 2 !
2. Let’s find friends : this is the most hardwork : No official directory, no random friend search, no search by location or ever, … Damn how to get peapole to chat with ??? My own friends are not so photos lover, noone of them uses even picasa ! How to do : the soltion : get to the forum, pick up the nicknames and invite them all ! after a while I’ve fot some online friends and other who’s attempted to do same have invited me ! Cool , now the freinds are all what I have now !

3. Now How to start that kind of conversation ? Is it a classic “asl plz” or gimme you phone number ? No, it has nothing to do with ! just introduce yourself ask the other Helloer his details, and them send you photo, some kind of photographic introduction, send the one that you like and could even make peapole like you, then send a photo of your town or a famous place in you country.

4. The chat is warming and you’ve made your friend discover through your own photos new dimensions ! now let’s talk tech : “What kind of cam do you have ?”, place to the tipcs and tricks : how to make better shots, what kind of effect should be applied, …
5. Before leaving your Helloer friend you’ll have to get or make promises to take shots about missed landsacpe that you’ve been talking about, but don’t have the photos right now !
6. Hello is funny with your own cam when showing to peapole that you know use it

U.S. Army photo experience
Jan 24th
The Washington Post is publishing photos taken by soldiers from iraq -as a new experiment-, nothing to do with Abou Gharib or the daily daead and wounded counting, just peacefull shots of the daily life of the soldiers, landscapeses that exists despite the guns, peapole and some funny facts to like snwo in Mosul.
The gallry is revealing the other face submerged with news headlines annoucing deaths, ’cause life is more powerfull than hate, “We are all right, Iraq is beautifull”, This should the main expression labelling the photos, or at least… I think so.
