Still waiting the bus…

The word blog remains darkly mysterious for the Tunisian public, my mother know it as it’s my being in the “ternet” (Internet), my brothers and sisters, my friends and neighbours, bloggers and people around, people who really know how to take the web down, IT real experts, … and so on, but what about the others, if we do a little mathematical statics, we get with less 2 % of this green land inhabitants that have or would heard about blogs, blogging and bloggers.
I have always been trying to spread blogging culture all around, more of 50 % of my friends have blogs such as Ash, Imed, Khlaed, Anis, Meher , Yassine,… far beyond pretending the good blogger I have to be fater years of lines dropping habit. Almost all my freinds knows that I have an active blog, with the time they have accumulated that definition as well as we hope from people who think that Yahoo is a search engine.
But who to blame really ? Bloggers ? yes ! and who else ? Media !
Why blaming bloggers while they are making the content that nerds should read and comment ? Just because we are not marketing blogging well, we are still living into “link me baby”, Other that our very intimating meet-up where “we put names on photos”, we have no other “real” manifestation, we don’t have a real existence in the real world, we haven’t dealed with others association, we haven’t passed our knowledge to other people, in a couple of words , the old bloggers as the primate lobby should initiate people other than bloggers how to blog.
The media or the “shaming biscuit devourer guys” have no interest, gain or pleasure talking about blogging, even their article about how how to read you Y! mail or how to patch your digital receiver got a wide success, they just trust some kind of experts who have nothing to do with IT, real IT people are let down in profit of those who have accidentally discovered “Ternet” with includes computing, keyboard, Install that f* toolbar, DVD players and all they other stuff. I remember that the Tv presenter from TV7 have told us that he like (as much as the old TV presenter ‘Afif”) have met computing while bathing in the air tonight two years ago, …
I know that Tunisian Blogsphere has reached somehow its edge, or we feel warm within those more than a hundred blogs, but this is all an illusion, we have almost copies and copies of the same blog style, we have poor content, awful design, and it seems that fews bloggers help each other,…
The conclusion is that we should go to the next level, the Tunisians blogs are now -more than ever- pushed forwardly to do it, and Media should be in the mod, and yes we will accept apologies and biscuits from the journalists without publishing that the anaconda is a worm coming straight down the sky. If you got any idea suggestions expose it now, today I’m totally inn !

After this disinformation adaptation starring “Jgham Ridadh” from “Al akhbar” Tunisian newspaper, sponsored by hundreds of mails exchange, then totally recycled into a “that guy is a liar”, our friend Adib was pointing to the right direction of the wind> where the anaconda was not an anaconda just a python and he wasn’t a border broker of our sandy south (Tatouiune) but so far away in Indonesia.
I have pulled back the old story just because I have found an other local newspaper trying to figure out as “the saver” of our informational knowledge, by telling other misunderstood info and unprofessional analysis.
The article above was published lately in “Al anwar” of the December 3, 2005 just an other newspaper and an other totally different press group where Muhammad and Abdel Karim (almost anonymous journalists???) are telling that the other journalist is a liar and that snake is really in Indonesia, and that they have found that information in an Arabic website, while I’m 100% sure that they have red the same adib’s article in French and confused his blog with a forum as long comments seems like a discussion board while their web knowledge are unfit with the professional status they have to be.
I don’t blame the Tunisian press, I just want our cafe seat takers to have the time to verify the authenticity of the news they are grabbing from anybody around, and then if possible it’s won’t be a shaming to say that Tunisian Blogger rocks and we have trusted our errata there.

Fulah : the dream of every arabic girl

The above slogan does the explanation, this new arabic doll was made in someways to strike against Barbie, the maricain doll, a way to re-educate children while playing with dolls like their mom’s, ant’s , tecaher’s ,… I was delighted discovering Folla in the Champion stores and Monoprix too for a very reasonnable price (five times less than barbie).
It other ways, the wish of the inventor is to create a local product with more respectfull clothing when babrie seems like a real slut, so if we need to offer dolls to our princesses we won’t offer them an expensive americain doll that could inject dirty toughts unless beeing her dream…
Even if ther’s a Nancy Ajram’s style version, it should matter just for marketing purposes, we have to offer many aspects of the sme product to avoid beeing extremist, it should show the customer that he have the choice between the well covered doll and the less one, so the partents -or the kids- should at least be able to choose and assume that choice by the way.

Althrough not more list in tn-blogs, the ” !! شيخ بيه” is back more agressif, more casted away, I won’t announce it loudly , but he is still alive… and still bloogin’ la vida loca !
At the launh time (today) I have blamed him or his new dirty dancing and adivsed labelling his blog with “Explicit content” to prevent stororming his visitors, getting back to work, openning my Firefox… he was enough jerk !!!

Meetup 9

Our monthly Blogger meetup was hold yesterday in cafe 112 (in Hotel Arha at the end of av. palastine), a bunch of bloggers were there for the 9th encounter(Troubadour, Infinity, Marouen (meetup 9 godfother), Adib, Evil Drako, Subzeroblue, Toon-c (that sounds like tounsi), Tom), only one blogger was there, two newbies and a TV7 (Tunisia TV) reporter who was dicovering with notes on small pieces of paper shamely the blogging world and actors.
This meetup was not monotonic as infinfy posted, we won’t do better if we like to meet each other often, I think that meetup are very importing shaking the blogsphere, the meetup does not mean taking hot chocolate or making noise, but it intended to make bloggers feel more warm in a community better than feeling aparted in front of a keyboard.
Troubadour was complaing about the thumbail of her photos on the tn-blogs aggrgator top banner, she thinks that deserves the right to be asked bafore about that, houssein should make the tour to ask for face right.
Drako felt unconfortable in the 112 cafe and have switched with adib to Al biwa where tom, Subzer and Marouen have gone too after the 3 hours of the meetup(4-7 pm).
Toon-c was quiet a shy boy speaking only in request, while i have tried desespertly to merge new ones with the old bloggers, adib haven’t stopped speaking.
I have convinced my friend Selma to get in the meetup and discover within the magic wolrd of blogging, she agreed, Marouen was very kinding taking his time expaining what’s about : she were stupified like if she were a 5 years girls getting a new doll 
While adib, selma, nouha and drako were chatting in the group B, we have take our take me and the other guys speaking about IT and new business opportunities, Tom was drawing for us what should be a CRM as he got years of experience woking around.
I won’t complain about the meetup, but I have shared the summary of my thoughts with marouen , subzeo and Tom in th front of the hotel while geeting to leave at the ned of the meetup, and so I have expressed my total dissatisfaction about the quality and goels of the event :
- We have to discuss more the future and the being of the blogs.
- The new blogger were not welcmoed as it should be.
- Noone (else me and marouen) have brought with him a potientiel blogger as we’ve promised to do in the last meetups.
- I was going to suggesto a Tunisian blogger Help consorcuim.
And so on, finally the meetup was not so bad as I’ve met my best friends, but I’m sure that we can do better, just try to set up a discussion order of the facts we should discuss.
I want to re-explain to Infinity the that the Beer Blogger Meetup have nothing to do with our regular meetups, but an other totatally independant and different event where bloggers should met while drinking, many bloggers don’t want to get in the classic meetup so I have set up that kind of meetup to attract bloggers who won’t get there.
I hope I’ll see you in next meetups, getting there for those who have never met the old bloggers is so important at last once !
My first steps down the blogsphere

When in the late 2001s I have discovered blogs I was totally sold and instantly attracted, they were so few with that new trick as if you were walking on the moon, I have spend two years reading blogs before I decided that it’s time to do it by myself now.
At the beginning, I was thinking about installing my own script on a free hosting site with php and mysql, but all my essays fails down and I noticed by the same way that free blog hosting started to flow around,so I’ve made a tour where free blogs where offered to land safely in the Blogger.com in it’s early days, the site was suite fast and doesn’t contain unlovely ads as other free hosts use to do.
I have gone tech directly from my first post (the first chunk above before the orange separation line), I haven’t even taken the time to establish my stage and tell people who am I, or did I get experiences with extraterrestres. I haven’t maintained that blog too much, and despite I have made my first teamplate I have posted less than 10 entries.
On of the most blogs that I used to read was circle.ch a Swiss site that got converted fastly into a weblog powered by b2 which is now wordpress, I like that engine very much that’s why I was far to get established in the blogger.
Suddenly I have found a cool host called 22blog (that vanished sadly two months ago), so I’ve taken all my garbage and get there, that was my real blogging start-up with a better introduction, rich posts and real comments.
At the end of the September (2003) I have received a mail from hussein offering hosting within the Tunisian blogger community as we were at that time few guys, that was the best ever invitation I’ve got in my life, in fact rundom.com powered by MT with unlimited features such as uploading direclty pictures while I used to host them in an other server, …
From that time till now I’ve been a good blogger (I think so , and I know that many don’t like me, other think that I am a jerk while other applause and that’s sufficient to keep me going on, for the moment I don’t think leaving rundom, but I know that someday I’ll be relying in myself, houssein hospitality won’t last for the end of times.
I really like what I’ve done since that, I’m really proud of my blog, it needs a little makeup and that’s on the works, I think that “Mouse Hunter” is the best I could get in my life.
So if you haven’t never experienced the pleasure of bogging do it at least once, cause it’s on the list on must to-do ones, and remember that bogging costs nothing while love make your wallet as empty as a drum.
The hope project

After the tragic loss of my old cam (FujiFilm 1400z) I have been searching for a new one as a replacement as I can no longer endure walking without shooting everything in my sight view.
My final choice is to the cute FujiFilm S5200z shown above, that costs between 300 – 340 $, the SLR-like cam is a 5.0 Megapixel and 10x optical zoom.
So I have started a new process of “who can help getting that thing online” as I have no ways to do that, if you don’t know -from where I am Tunisia- I am unable to buy anything online.
I have already mailed many of tunisians living outside the country in Europe and America asking for a help, and I’m still waiting.
If you have a better offer, or you can help please do that now, the great aid is getting closer and I can’t face the sheep desarmed of a few megapixels knife, unless I’ll get a camera before that delay I’ll turn into the sacrifice woody animal.

Beer Blogger Meetup

So, what’s next ? what if we combined the classic “blogger meetup” with the greeny “Drink party” ? I’m sure that the idea is not bad and would attract different bloggers those who hate tasting a warm tea with laughing circle, I have already exposed the fact to Chikipi, Imed and Ash as I was unable to convince them to get into the next 9th meetup because they think that meeting the same peapole and talking the same old thing is boring and sucking till death !
So in a couple of word we are willing to make up a meetupwhere only alcoholic blogger would be in, everybody welcome, the meetup will be held in a bar, I suggest schilling or Saint-geaorge both located in downtown, any suhhestions of time, date and place are open.
