Snawsi in da Block
Feb 24th
This is one of the best Tunisian English spoken Blog I’ve ever red in my life, despite the basic Blogger template and the poor design the blog is brightened with the excellent quality of the inside text, I didn’t knew that it was Tunisian without getting back a mail from the blogger, I like this blog start-up post :
OK, I know it’s BLOG but it’s like moving to a new block, getting to know a new community with some new rules, new behavior, new style. Sounds like a NY gangstar babe, … Honestly, I wonder what kinda style I should adopt for this blog …
Honestly dude my English sucks and I should take a rope, got it ? By the way Houssein, you have to add it on the list.
SNAWSI IN DA BLOCK
Zaghouan Blog conference
Feb 24th

After, the meetups, the Tunisian Aggregator, now we stepped forward something new, we target people, and that’s how we made up this first contact with real people no email, no posting just people to people conversation.
The first Blog conference that we’ve held in ISET Zaghouan (55 km to Tunis) last Wednesday was awesome, even with less that 100 students and that we’ve got there two hours late at 22, our speech wasn’t a waste of time, we were there united (Me, Tom, MMM, Mraihi and Moez), while Mr. Jamel and Mr. Jalel have been too kind to make the students busy while waiting through out quiz and logic games.
The speech was finished in the car, it was about “what is a blog” and “how to start blogging”, with even a little simulation because there was to internet connection, but all the girls knew already and got an email and that was enough to spread the voice of blogging :
- What is a blog (MMM)
- Therminol (Tom)
- Tunisian Blogsphere (Mraihi)
- Creating a blog start posting (Me)
The whole thing lasts about one hour and half, the students were all amused with this new discovery and were really excited even if they complain about the lack of Internet access, at the end it was clear that we’ve made a real cool view about blogging and especially Tunisian blogosphere (through Mraihi speeh).
The most surprising fact in that night, is about Moez who, despite the fact that he wasn’t a blogger and he doesn’t really understand it really good, made the others through his own basic words have a little more knowledge about what does that thing is, while we were almost a bit more scientific and academic that it should be for those beginners.
We want to thank all those who’s effort was the success key of this event as a premier, we thank especially Mr. Ridha the dormitory’s director who accepted us for this show, Mr. Akrout Jamel who helped with some speech and the Data show, Mr. Jalel for his efforts supporting our team, Moez who drove us in his own car there !
This should be the first, we are looking forward to spread the voice of blogging everywhere we can have a speech, we are scheduling an other conference not so far from Zaghouan too in the next weeks. We will do everything to help other at no cost people, just for sharing the pleasure of blogging.

The new Tunisian 10 Dinars money note
Feb 21st

The beautiful and modern ten Dinars note is on, it’s getting inside pockets small by small in order to replace the old one, the new blue layout is cool where you can see “Elyssa” the founder of Carthage at the right corner, while “Al abidine” mosque is focused in the middle of the bill, in tha back side a classic roman temple (at the left) and a huge dish in the right, wich clearly symbolise trhe past and the future, culture and technology , …
The new blue 10 Dinars is alike European Euro at first sight and it would make you feel handling a modern bill as if you got Euros in your hand, it seems that they’re gonna redesign all the note by the end of this decade.
Zaghouan’s ISET
Feb 20th

The ISET of Zaghouan located at the right side of the road while you’re getting to Zaghouan (55km to Tunis), exactly at the edge of al Mograne (7km to Zaghouan) is new High school born, it has been build five years later(2001) and started the studies since that October (almost later in December) while construction were still in progress.
The campus is threaten in a green wide area with a huge view of the mountain, a superb view that we can’t get from Zaghouan, the air is fresh and the the calm is dominating the whole place expression, I have spend a while visiting the inside, and got really sold : the buildings were really well done, thus in addition to two bed rooms and many local clubs and workshops. The ISET is the scond high school after the University of food indistries wich is too old (about 60 years).
The short visit has taken me back to my Nabeul’s ISET days when I got there to study computing, we didnt get the same comfort and the campus was a little far from the town, I wish just if I could get turn back in time …

Just got back from Beja
Feb 17th
A few hours later I were back to Tunis after a brief installation in our local office in Beja (northern Tunisia), the weather was great a little cloudy, much warm than the past weeks, I haven’t taken photos inside beja, because I’ve done that many times and there’s no need to do that again, you can check my archives for photos of beja, the photo that I want to share with you is about those school boys playing with balls much know in arabic as [beess], you know the small glass balls that we used to have on our pockets and try to win much more while defeating other players !

Even with a new camera I’m gonna keep the same photo line : real life and funny shots, my new Fujifilm Finepix 5200 is a powerful piece of heaven that shoots anything with a 10x optical zoom, the next days I’m gonna take more photos, so .. stay tuned.

Shut up !
Feb 7th
It’s enough ! the monkey show should cut off now, we have been humilated while whatching those peapole pretending defending the Islam buring danish, german and europeean flags, something really disgusting, auwfully disturbing !
The cartioons are tough, that’s ok, danish foreign minuster have appologized, the newspaper too, everybody everywhere have blamed the cartoons, we have boycoted danish products (even we have so few danish products in Tunisia), peaple everywhere have gone on strike and that’s fine !
But those brutal actions lately eneganged in damascous, Tehran , kabul , … are unwanted, they don’t defend the prophet of the Islam , they are just feeding the hate and making the extremists of the both sides happy.
Please in the name of the name of Allah and his cherfull prophet stop this propaganda, danish peaple are not our target, the cartoons are just some meangingless drawings and Islam is getting the worst reputation ever, save you energy there is thousnads of ways to show your faith ! Danish peapole haven’t handled that pencil, and don’t ever agree with the makers of the trouble, remember that ther are tens of mosques ther wich shows clearly their acceptance of Islam.
We are just spreading the conflict over and over, this is a call to all bloggers and maybe journalists to shout it clearly, that the trouble must get over, we love Denmark, Europe and all the world, and we’re sure that they agree with this, so stop it now and shut up your dirty mouth for ever !
What if Muhammed faced the cartoons
Feb 4th
If ever the prophet were alive or ressucted reading that danish newspaper, what would he do or say ? I guess nothing, he would just turn the page and continue reading the news …
Muhammed was used to get such situations with the kouraich and the whole unfaithful lobby who accused him with sorcery, and the ability to control people minds, dividing the son off his father and making the people leave their old beliefs, but he did that times ? Nothing, no one is wiser enough as he dared let’em down with their midnights disturbing stories, while apostles were asking him to replicate and defend his reputation, he just wished good times and that god should be mercy with them.
I won’t simulate the holy prophet reaction, but all what I want to say is that arabs have progressively turned that meaningless cartoons into an attack against Islam and Muhammed, the Islam is boxed into every faith-full heart and the prophet is standing in the 7th sky next to the lord, and just tell me how are you to defend that great man ???
what if those cartoons were published untitled and uncommented ? would you guess that they talk about the prophet certainly not ! Do those cartoons really give you for one second of “Muhammed inside”, personally I don’t think so, they were just some pencil work that were strongly spiced, yes they are about Muhammed because we have certified that through boycotts and strikes building them a free success path…
In one word forget about it, the prophet is enough positioned to defend his self, and if you keep screaming no one would hear you sit down and talk wisely, and don’t feed them with more popularity, no star would be famous is the public won’t give him interest.
Tunisia Blocked France soir
Feb 2nd
The Tunisian minster of Interior -based of the press code- has decided the seizure of the french daily “France Soir” entry of the last Wednesday February 1, 2006 which contained cartoons of the holy prophet lately published by the danish newspaper whose contents are offensive for the Moslems and outrageant for the noble person of the Prophet.
The goverment reaction is awesome despite the Tunisian press still focuses on football and imaginary 10 meters flying snakes, there are still many people who still ignore the fact and the remaining acknowledged don’t really matter where is Denmark?
