Mediterranean Guitar Festival – Day 5
Mar 28th
Finally I got there in time, last Saturday, when I was walking close to the rails leading to Tunis Big avenue, the noise was spreading from the far, so I got my cam out of my military green bag, and gone shooting everything …
Euphoria

This is a very young lovely band with two girls inside, one on the keyboard and the other was leading vocals, the so thin guitarist was great and the music was awesome, the girl was trying to do evanescence and her voice goes harsh while the refrain was played in playback, the whole thing was not bad and the kid did great work.

The group was supported by a bunch of kids who were in the front line of what I call “Shake my head, make my hair go in fire”, everybody knows how to do it, but I did not go far, as my head looks too big ![]()

Introspection

Don’t tell me how did they get the band’s name, but I’ll tell that the half meter hair long vocal wasn’t the clue, the death music was very loudly played in the avenue, while people there are positive for folk, many people didn’t express their anger and disappointment.

The band was like every time smarten by a fool guitarist, the vocal was screaming out of hell ,and the front line supporters used to the head shake praying times, I was there, but not that happy, this kind of music doesn’t mean nothing to me even if I like too much Dark Tranquility, the boys should worked it better, but for their under 20 years old show, we just applause and say keep on the move …

Finally there was the same old naggers like every time we used to show some interesting music, the kind of people who paint Hard rock community as gays and fools, and who despite their hate to the others stay all along the two shows, the stupid bastard were there just for two things first of all : these were experimenting a new music never heard before played by Tunisian like them with instruments they won’t even call by names, and secondly too see those strange kids shaking the juicy music, if they don’t like guitars they can go and piss away, their only worth is a wine bottle and Mezoued tune !
Gattuso Wanted
Mar 25th

The so talented Tunisian underground Zemeken pop/rock band is spreading a call to the world to get back their cheerful gattous, the holy cat can be found anywhere, the reward can be one billion dollar or just a red and white pack of pure Celtia, I myself started to ask cats if they saw this yellowish-taxi-painted feline.
By the way I like very much those guys, who other than remastering old tubes, they have invented a so special music that really smells Tunisian harissa, good work lawled keep on the move !

Mediterranean Guitar Festival – Day 4
Mar 25th

There were no Off today, the rock people with their so long hair and so black clothes won’t get back as the saucer that they have lied in front of them was never filled up once, so they got short of cigarettes and no more coke, so they left the avenue and go some where else.
The only motion there was a band of break dance kids who use to seize the best platforms to do some acrobatics and they really rock !
Mediterranean Guitar Festival – Day 3
Mar 24th

Unfortunately I’ve missed the off, I did go go to Ben Arous to fix some computers and smile to my colleagues, so my bosses would be smiling to their wifes at the and of the day, the guys wearing strange t-shirts and green clothes were there making the Tunis city theatre their big home, while other long haired boys were in the font cafe “L’univers” which was a bar too, nothing special to tell else that I like see my people there, it smells like a teen spirit, I like to people who like my music, So I felt comfortable to sit down with friends talking about some Tech and Music.
We were talking about Robert Plant’s show, and how he’s gonna play his new album with his new band “Strange sensation”, I have argued that I want to see “Led Zeppelin” not the solo come back of R. Planet, but my friend did tell me that his new album was good and that the 70 years old guy still have that strange scream, but it doesn’t bother me, Led zepp is gonna, and what’s playing inside in the in show is not that great…
I think that the event is the outside special behaviour more than the bands and their music, the people who came are the festival, not those who holds the instruments or the microphone.
Mediterranean Guitar Festival – Day 2
Mar 23rd

I was late, at 6′oclock, the platform established for the OFF show was empty unless some break dance kids, I was really upset, but job duties were too captive, so the only thing I saw were the hard rock community getting out the dark and roaming all around, the IN show didn’t bother me, I didn’t find anyway to get free entry and the 20/15 TND ticket isn’t worth unknown guitar bands, so I get away with my friends and took a straight espresso in the avenue, the festival was too expensive with more than a tens of sponsors they were unable to hold two bands playing more than one hour, and making entry fees too expensive to think once to give it up, the people who make this run are awfully wrong, at the end of the show I have noticed that people who were inside didn’t fill up the big Tunis theatre a quarter, successful event, thanks boys gotta give up lying …
Mediterranean Guitar Festival – Day 1
Mar 22nd

The Miditerrian Guitar Festival have started yesterday within youth celebration, I’ve missed the off first two bands, but one of my friends have told that I haven’t really missed much than a band of wealthy kids jumping and screaming in pain.
I really miss A Band Of Gypsys , that band rocks the way it should be loudly played, while getting my last beer in the Univers bar some meters in front of the Tunis theatre I have met a rock band outing Ezzahra city and who said that they got no chance getting in, they told me that they used to play reggae.
Cheap hard worker relaxation plan
Mar 18th

There’s nothing much to do when a hard worker day’s over, just try to relax and get away from the pain, when money is not that thing filling up your right pocket we prefer just to relax with few cigarettes and a plastic bottle of coke, the conversations the old same speech how the day was and how things would be with the everlasting question “Who am I in all this trash”.
The Bourguiba Avenue in Tunis is such a great place for relaxing, even a crowded and noisy place it offers moments of peace, because you know that people here are all relaxing and getting some mind rest, while we are looking to people getting around in a motion basically recursive we may see our-self reflected down a big chase of buddhist fell away with the spirits.
I really enjoy to steal that time from eternity with my best friends and meditate a little about the things that settles deep into my pet cave, a cheap entertainment and a smell painkiller, if it’s good for me, it would be the remedy for you.

Goodbye Mahesh !
Mar 14th

In our last Tunisian Bloggers meetup when someone have commented Subzero’s meetup announcement, I thought that it was just to in the mob or to link to his gallery, but after a while the meetup started, he was here ! Manesh is an Indian IT that worked in USA then moved to Paris to study photography for 9 months, he got a e-300 Olympus with a 3 lenses, I don’t know about you but I was totally sold seeing all that stuff, later when focusing in his shots in Tunisia I understand that he was the professional one.

Mahesh came to Tunisia with a colleague of his school who were Tunisian from Bizerte where he spend his fist 3 days of his 10 days journey in Tunisia, honestly as I’ve been busy all time I was only able to contact him 2 times after my job duties were finished, so when he told me that he’s gonna leave Monday evening I gone in holiday to spent it with him.
We got got many interesting discussion first of all about photography and how to make it work and how he is making his career small by small, he was enough kind to give me many tricks, we also exchanged many thought of this brutal world and both Tunisia and India.
Finally we got to the airport when goodbye was such a regret-full feeling leaving a friend that you wish he would stay longer, in the other hand he told me that he got a meeting with Subzero in Paris ![]()
So goodbye Mahesh and welcome anytime you want !
