The dark side of the big Avenue

Avenue dark side Tunis 7 novembre habib Bouguiba

The Avenue of 7 Novembre aka Habib Bourguiba or simply as I used to call it the big Avenue (The biggest avenue all over Tunisia) is open window of Tunis town all over the world, its how civilized and modern we are : two wide ways, with a real big walking pavement between, a big Ben in the edge, a statute of Ibn Kahakdoun in the top, luxurious cafes , ... a must visit of every Tunisian or Tourist.

All this makes part of any Tourist guide, but I wont bore you with that speech and make you spend you money there, I just want to about the bad things as they are, but this doesn't mean although that that avenue is bad : It's the best place in all over Tunis, but every moon have dark side...

The avenue is a set of really expensive, badly served cafes (expecting three or four who deliver a real royal service), some shops, an excellent library, three Cinemas and a lot a lot of people and between those green trees where many birds have made their home, the mad stands for good as a describing part of the the whole thing.

First of all, the Big avenue is the biggest market for payed pleasure women (Bit**), they make the cafes their shopping window, negotiating with loud voice the prices and conditions of their service.

We found there many people who turns girl's ballad into a hell trying to invite them to a cup of tea in order to get back home with something to spend the time other than a PlayStation, I'm sure that they make it with few sluts, but how can they dare nagging on cute girls just because they are getting a coffee there ?

I see many people talking out loud almost a rubbish vocabulary just close to families and kids with no respect at all.

You have nowhere to sit else cafes, like if you were told to drink or leave, the few place where you can relax without having a waiter nagging on you to drink something is around the big Ben fountain or around Ibn Khaldoun seats, most of the seats all over the avenue mysteriously disappeared ...

The Avenue needs colors other than the grey pavement or the green trees, it needs more life : it should have a soul, I don't know how exactly but someone should do something.

If we are able to clean out that trash, we will get the best avenue in the world . I ask those who got into European town to tell me the ways we should turn the avenue into a full bright moon shining all over this cheerful country.

Moi , je déteste l'avenue quand elle est "overcrowded ", elle l'est tt le temps d'ailleurs, donc je déteste ! on ne peux ni s'y promener tranquillement ni manger ou boire un truc bien. Dommage !

Moi j'aime bien l'avenue ..
Seul mauvais truc c l'absence d bans publics : Comme l'a dit snawsi on peut po s'asseoir et manger un truc trankil .. en plus ya po mal d'emmrdeurs ki rodent ds le coin .. ya le parkà coté d'abu nawas ki a l'air po mal ..

yah that was really the darkest side

I can’t say that I absolutely agree with you.

Being to Tunis many times as tourist I have seen all lacks you mentioned and I can even add a little bit:

In day light Avenue is always overcrowded, you will never find a place to park you car there

In night you can find some cheap dirty bars and a lot of drunken men, who comes out from this bars and brave policemen who think that their job makes them Gods ...

But still I love this Avenue, I can feel the rhythm of life there ... its great place!
