Police and Fire Report in the suburs of Tunis

A patrol of the Tunisian security last Sunday exchanged fire with a gang of criminals being described as dangerous in the southern suburb of the capital Tunis (Hammam Chott) and killed two of its members and captured two others, two elements of the Tunisian security were wounded. This was announced by an official source -a spokesman the Tunisian Ministry of the Interior- pointing out that preliminary investigations indicated that elements of the group are dangerous criminals and were living in a housing area without providing further details.

Hi, just happened to stumble across your blog.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but gang violence in Tunisia doesn't seem to be the norm. Today there were reports that Tunisian police killed 25 "gang members". Is this more of a cover-up for increasing Islamist militant activity in the country?
