Zaghouan Trip Details
Feb 22nd
For those who are willing to get with me in Zaghouan, here are the trip’s details :
1- You have to contact me via email (karim2k@gmail.com) and via My mobile Phone(21304089)
2- You have to get with one of those who’s coming down Zaghouan.
3- You’ll have to be no later than 9:30 – 10 morning in Zaghouan.
4- We will ride the mountain in Foot : bring bag with you including all your stuff such as food and water and maybe you cam

1st Tunisian Photobloggers meetup
Feb 12th
Last Friday February 9, 2007 we made the first photobloggers meetup as photoblogging become a prominent activity over the Tunisian blogoshpere, the talk was exclusively about photos (despite Bloggers meetups) and we were honored by our special guest M. Terry king an American living in Tunisia since 2 years and actively practicing and teaching photography.
We are a bit ashamed as we come without our showcase, Terry and Haythem Salhi (aka shay) were the only who showed us their works, especially Terry who got most of his works printed and we shared the emotion while he was showing them one by one and telling us where and how did he take that and that photo, Shay did brought up his laptop and showed us excellent photos that he haven’t unfortunally published yet.
We have already agreed to start getting our and taking photos, exchanging techniques as most of use are simply novice and haven’t even the basics of photography, we shall go somewhere next weeks, try to have an eye on our news group.
Finally I thank all those who made it there, especially our friend Saied Dardour who despite his short holiday in Tunisia, he come aboard from Sousse, thanks you all guys !

Mohamed-Ali aka Dali, is one of my best friends, he is also my neighbor in Zaghouan, for a long time I have been inviting him to blog as he have many things to say out loud, recently he did it, he’s French is so fluent and his topic are quite interesting.

Reminder : Photobloggers Meetup
Feb 8th
as posted above we are willing to meet together to talk about Photography and Photoblogging tomorrow (Friday) at 19 O’clock in Restaurent El Mida (Avenue Palastine), everybody is welcome, we are rather a set of photoblogger than professional photographers and even if you don’t have a camera , the gathering would bother you either we used to have fun just by meeting each other.
When yahoo makes the rules over flickr’s old school
Feb 6th
On March 15th we’ll be discontinuing the old email-based Flickr sign in system. From that point on, everyone will have to use a Yahoo! ID to sign in to Flickr.
I have received lately this message in which Flickr seems to fall down Yahoo’s doctrine, as ever I have alawys hated Yahoo, I found this thread extremely disgusting and tyrannic, that the best photo sharing system got screwed with a simple commercial issues, I have even stopped posting photos there and willing to cut down with what was a beautiful service … Down with the sickness down with yahoo !
All over the blogs I have seen people who are part of the old school (as long as Flickr membership is no more allowed) more angry that Am i from this new obligation.

Why are the Old Skool members being treated like second class citizens on this issue? We are the community that made Yahoo buy you guys.
Status : Busy and powerless

As you’ve noticed I’ve been almost out of the blogosphere this late month due a whelming job duties, we have so much work to be done quickly, with the coming of the new boss , the shipment of some hundreds of computers , the deployment of new projects, … I have so few time to dedicate for blogging all I was able to do is to throw a photo over my photoblog and go ahead, I hope finishing some urgent tasks and get back in the ride again in the few next weeks.
E-500 shipped in safety : come up to the new Photography level

Not late than last Saturday 2th, February after midnight that Anis shipped me my so awaited Olympus E-500 Digital SLR including double lense (Zuriko 14-45mm, Zuriko 45-150 mm) and a double batteries a set (I have getting low battery), a 2GB Kingston Compact Flash II card and over all a Tamrac explorer 1 bag.
The whole package did cost the whole fist quarter of this year salary, but it’s worth it, as I’m back to my parent’s house, I have less to spend and a lot to save, I’m not willing to switch my career from It to photographer, but I’m just trying to do really photography while keeping my status as amateur.
Once handling my new baby, I felt strange feelings : the little toy is a really matter of technology with it’s exchangeable lenses, it have nothing to do with all the cameras I’ve seen all my life even my SLR-like FujiFilm S5600 seamed though compared to the E-500.
My photography experience will be rise up, but I’ll have to change my habits of unfold and shoot , as the new cam is not that heavy toy and I can’t take with me everywhere and at anytime, in fact I’ll have to dedicate time for it, plan subjects and places to shoot, and in order to keep my old habits of awareness about shooting everything around, I’ll buy a compact camera that fits on my pocket within the few next months.
All I need from this “thing” is to have fun while getting new photography experience that have and would be changing my life senses for ever.
