The Radio TounesBledi team consists of about thirty members among leaders of directions, animators, technicians and producers, all volunteers. Radio TounesBledi is funded exclusively by its founder. So far Radio TounesBledi attracts over 550 000 listeners distributed mainly on the European continent, North American and African. Radio TounesBledi broadcasts life 24h/24h 7 days a week.

Everybody is getting rid of Mosaique Radio FM headache in every little Taxi or cafe, and the national radios such as RTCI are just old records covered with dust, just to tell you how bored the radio is in Tunisia, in fact one among them even basically a main steam radio.

When Maroeun called me to join him in the radio for his radio show, he said that the radio was located in a basement , I thought that it was an underground radio, but the building was a little low but not a basement with a three office and a a parted studio all painted in black, audibly isolated.

The office was gathering the production stuff, people in charge of managing the show, getting the guests, ... the main studio was orchestrated by Mohamed as volunteer as the rest of the crew, the inside studio was a small room with glass for 3 people.

The equipment is really basic but quite efficient: an IBM machine with a creative Audio rack connected to a ADSL connection, an audio AMP relying back to 3 microphones, I did see a Windows XP with a very basic streaming software, two opened Winamps (One for the effects and an other for the tunes).

The online stream is really basic or even really poor, a pop up window with built in flash player, there is no clear schedule on the site, no sliced podcasts featuring every show, the in formations on the site are really non accurate. their website is in French- I really don't know why.

The crew are all volunteer almost students but also a lot of professionals 60% females, I did even notice that was more people than shows as many people have potential for making a real good show, I know that Tunisian are great about talking but those guys have the cream of talk.

Anyway, this start up radio is broadcasting interesting stuff in three languages (Arabic, Drench and English) worth telling about, a real alternative to the government and commercial radios we got in Tunisia but certainly the first one of its kind many other to follow, good luck guys and have fun!
